New Way Trucks Announces Leadership Changes

McLaughlin Family Cos., the parent company of New Way Trucks, based in Scranton, Iowa, announced leadership changes at the company, which it calls the largest privately owned manufacturer of traffic management equipment. waste in North America.

Johnathon McLaughlina third-generation family member behind founder John McLaughlin and CEO Mike McLaughlin, is promoted to director of manufacturing for the New Way Trucks and K-PAC Compactor brands.

In the new role, the younger McLaughlin will be responsible for manufacturing operations in Scranton and Booneville, Mississippi, as well as coordinating with joint venture manufacturers in Canada, Mexico and Australia. It will be “particularly focused on standardizing manufacturing practices and streamlining manufacturing workflow to increase efficiency, reduce lead times and improve quality,” the company said.

Johnathan McLaughlin most recently served as the company’s Executive Vice President and has over 15 years of manufacturing, sales and product development experience.

Don Ross, a 35-year veteran of the solid waste industry, is also being promoted. Ross moves from vice president of sales and marketing to director of sales, responsible for leading and managing the company’s sales and marketing efforts.

New Way credits Ross with his extensive experience in the industry, including collection and post-collection monitoring, consulting, equipment manufacturing and distribution, and multiple volunteer roles in the association. Ross is currently president of the National Waste & Recycling Association (NWRA) based in Arlington, Virginia.

The company also announces the hiring of Eric Evans as product manager. Evans joins the company with over 20 years of experience in the waste and recycling industry with a background in sales, operations, service and new product development.

“Eric brings an exceptional level of knowledge and understanding of our industry to New Way, and we are thrilled to have him join our team,” says Ross. Evans will oversee product design, development and support.
